We are officially in Augusta. Its been a long two weeks and I am so thankful that we are through it. The boys have started their new school and seem to love it. Their teachers say they are definitely on track and know their stuff. So I am thankful for that. The boys didn't let me walk them in today, They insisted on walking themselves in.
The school system here starts later than Coweta county. I sorta like it, Also, school system wide, They provide free breakfasts for their students (but their lunch fees are higher as well) The boys were so excited to eat breakfast at school, so I let them eat there.
Chris is doing well. He should be moving in with us either tonight or tomorrow. He has finished his BET (basic electronic training) which is the equivelant of a two year electrical diploma. He did so well, He is getting a letter of recognition from Batallion (extra promotion points) and a Bomber coin. The Army gives coins as recognition and "Addaboy's"
He has started his hands on training as of today. He is very thankful that he was able to get into day classes. If not, he would have been in the night classes till midnight. They also gave him his graduation date. Which is July 9th. We are completely shocked it is so soon. We were originally told September....
Also: He has projected orders to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Sorta exciting. But also sorta nerve wracking to think of. A lot more rules to learn. Not to mention the expense of airfare to fly back home to visit and the length of a three year assignment. But if we are going to be stranded somewhere away from family, Why not Hawaii??? :) It could definitely change, especially since nothing is final with the Army until you have paper orders in hand. But, if he graduates as soon as expected, thats only approximately 14 weeks away!
So, I am posting our address, but be sure to write it down in pencil, because it will be changing in the near future!
