The Army has my man!

So, the past few days have been emotionally hard, but we are surviving it.

I had to take Chris to a hotel Monday night, he had to check in by seven something. But his curfew wasn't until 11:00pm. We took care of that and got to have a final "date" before he was their's. We went to Buckhead for dinner, walked into Buckhead Diner, put our name on the list and waited and waited and waited and waited. Everyone was getting seated but us and they had came in afterwards, plus there was some people completely snooty, others that just looked obscene in dress and then normal peeps like us. Finally, he looked over and asked if I wanted to just get out of there and go somewhere more our speed. I told him I'd follow him anywhere! So......

We went to waffle house! Gourmet dining at its best, BUT the restaurant was empty, no customers at all. We had a great time. By that time it was only 8:30ish. We decided to go driving to blow time, drove all the way around loop rd, reminiscing of his past jobs with Delta and AirTran, telling funny stories of things that have happened. That didn't last long enough.... Decided to go Thug watching through College Park, found plenty of funny looking thugs. Enjoyed that for a little bit, it didn't last long enough either. We finally decided it was time to say good bye unfortunately, but he was tired and so was I. So at around 10:00pm I left him in the parking lot of his hotel. It was so hard, and yes, I cried. I am thankful for my last day with him though.

The next day, they woke him up at 4:30am, thankfully I didn't have to be there till 8:30am, after being yelled at and instructed to hurry up and learn how to open the hood of my car! (Yes, I know, but I was nervous with a police officer hovering over me and watching and couldn't figure it out OKAY!) I got to watch him officially swear in around 9:00am and then the waiting began. He was completely finished with all of his paperwork around 10:30 am and was able to join us in the waiting room (much like a hospital waiting room) He wasn't allowed to leave the building, but we were. His parents went out and bought us Burger King for lunch. That was a great time, more laughing about memories and such......

My Love boarded his bus yesterday evening at 3:30pm. He was in good spirits, excited about the adventure ahead but nervous of the unknown! I myself, climbed into my car, a little sad, a little excited but all in all good considering.

I assume he is at Ft Jackson SC now, haven't heard yet. But I will report as soon as I know. This picture is of a letter Jacob wrote his Daddy Monday night after Chris said his final good byes.... It touched my heart!
