With two with stomach buggies, and one child with a weird freakish out break of what looks like chicken pox, but no one really knows what it is; We will be staying at home for Thanksgiving this year. However, I was able to fix Chris and all our Monday game night friends a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I am thankful that we were able to do that, this being Chris' last "Civilian" Thanksgiving holiday.
So Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

So Jacob's Kindergarten Class sent home their Thanksgiving Projects: Operation Save a Turkey. The assignment was to give his turkey a disquise, whatever he chose, so that he could "hide out" in the class room and not be eaten on Thanksgiving Day. So, of course Jacob picked a Yoda Turkey. He's very proud of this turkey!

Another Step Closer
Today was the day for the recruiter to come by and we were to fill out some final forms before he leaves for BCT on 12/30. I had a few questions that I wanted to ask. Unfortunately, our recruiter was held up at Ft Gilliem and sent a colleague. So, I didn't get any of my questions answered, etc. I don't know what the deal is with me now. Maybe it was seeing this Soldier step out of his car at my home made me realize more of what Chris is about to plunge into, or maybe I am disappointed that I got up early and scrubbed my house for nothing (They stayed outside), I don't know. But I am disappointed. I have a lot of weird emotions floating around right now, excitement, anxiety, nervousness, etc. Its a lot to comprehend and I guess the main thing thats the hardest is knowing that I don't feel happy, but I don't know what I feel at all. Maybe this is what feeling numb is? IDK

So Jacob got his weekly frowny face for behavior, stating that once again he didn't finish his writing worksheet and to please make sure he completes his homework plus his writing sheet before school tomorrow (which was complete within five minutes of being home) So I pull out the writing sheet, lol, and its G on one line and g on the next line and repeats down the page, wanting them to practice writing their G's. Well, most of you know Jacob attended Kindergarten last year and passed, but I didn't feel that Jacob was ready emotionally or maturity wise; had a meeting with the principal and she agreed with me, since he was the youngest in his class to begin with and we both agreed together it would be best to hold him back so he would "Soar" through first grade. So of course, Jacob has his alphabet down. So, when he sees the worksheet that I pulled out of his agenda, he turns and looks at me with his hands on his hips and says " I know, you don't even have to say it, but GOSH Mommy, why do I have to write so many dern G's. I am tired of writing that stupid letter. Can't she see I already know how to write it?" It was all I could do to not laugh, but I had to put on my concerned but stern face and direct him to the table to complete his work and to "show off how fast he can write his G's" Honestly, the G's that he did write were perfect. I think she does over react on some things, however, I do know that Jacob is just as stubborn as I and if she gives him an inch he WILL take atleast two miles back!

Jacob has his 1st Loose Tooth!
So the other night, while helping Jacob floss his teeth, I noticed a loose tooth. So, the first words out of my mouth were "Wow Jacob, you have a loose tooth!" I knew as soon as I said something, I shouldn't have because he was determined to get ahold to that tooth. So, I refused to tell him which tooth it was. Of course, he went straight to the bathroom, and tried to wiggle all his teeth until he figured out which tooth it was. So today, he has that thing so loose, Determined that the tooth fairy will be stopping by tonight! I am sure that I will be posting a snaggle tooth photo soon!
It is official!
So, it is official as of this week, Chris has signed his contract and taken his Oath for the Army, full time. He will be leaving for BCT on 12/30, stationed at Ft. Jackson SC. His AIT will be at Ft. Gordon, GA and should graduate in September 2009. His MOS is 94F Computer Detections Systems Repair.
We are excited and very nervous at the same time. This will be such a life change, but we are so thankful for the opportunities ahead for our family. However, my heart is already aching at the thought of not having Chris beside me when I wake up in the mornings. My heart aches when I look at my children and know that they are going to miss their Daddy so badly. I miss him already, and he's not even gone.
As one of my many ticks on my check list: "Things to do before Chris is gone," We had our first family portrait taken this morning. We weren't able to purchase all the poses, but we do have them on disc. I am placing some on here that we didn't get prints of, so atleast everyone can see them.
