I am so excited that the end is here! I am overwhelmed that it has flown by so quickly. But, then again, its sorta like Christmas or the day after. I know the great days ahead of us are just around the corner, BUT I also realize that 25 weeks of separation are lurking right past it! When this is all said and done, it will be 9 months of separation for our family. Yes, I realize that we can visit on weekends and holidays, etc. BUT its not the same. And then, always in the back of my mind is THE question. When will he deploy. There isn't the question of "Will he?" Its the question of when? It soley depends on the status of his unit that he joins when we move to our first duty station. If we are blessed, we will have nearly a year before he deploys if they just returned from a deployment. Or we could have two weeks before he leaves us for 12-15 months.
I haven't heard from Chris by phone since February 22nd, and his last letter was dated the 25th. I am sure that he is doing well, completing Victory Forge today, his last step in BCT. He will officially be called a soldier and be able to proudly wear his beret! One milestone on this journey is almost complete!
