One Week Till I Am In His Arms!

I am so excited that this has passed so quickly. I still have not heard a word from him, and I may not still until Sunday. There is so much planning to do still. Coordinating homework so the kids don't get behind, planning the drive up, meals and the events.

A lot of it is in the air still and can't really be planned until we are actually there. But I do have one plan and will steadfastly hold to it: To be sure Chris has fun, to be sure that he feels the love and support of our family and for the kids to get quality time with their Daddy first and foremost. I am determined to not be selfish and hog all of Chris' attention, because these kids have NO concept of time. They have given the largest sacrifice thus far, and THEY deserve the right to spend it with their Daddy before anyone else. Of course, I come in second, but my heart is warmed anytime I hear my kids laughter while playing with their Daddy. There is nothing like watching that moment in time. Time stands still and there is nothing. Nothing but them and their Daddy. . . . .and that is priceless.

My plans so far for family day: is a family picnic in the park. I will be bringing picnic items to feed ourselves since I have heard that the restaurants and fast food are always packed tight. So, if you wish to join us with our picnic, be sure to bring your cooler. Our plans are to just lounge, walk around and PLAY PLAY PLAY.

Friday morning is graduation, so I am not sure how it will go afterwards. I do know that I have to sign him out and sign some affidavits for transport; however, I do not know when this will all take place. I am planning that day as well to be mostly visiting with family and friends. Hopefully we will be able to leave post by 5pm head for dinner as a group in Columbia. Then, afterwards, me and Chris will part company with the group. He has a long day ahead of him and he will be exhausted. We will be leaving first thing Saturday morning to head towards Ft. Gordon for in processing. If all goes well, he may get the rest of the weekend off and we will head HOME. If not, I will say my good byes and head back home.

If any of you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I also need to know how many vehicles will be joining us, that aren't military affiliated. I have parking permits to hand out.

Great plan! Picnic is a great idea! There is alot of "down time" on family day! So definitely bring lots of toys and stuff to keep the kids and Chris (lol) entertained! Great idea!!! Don't forget your camera! And just FYI...the graduation is going to be BORING for the kids! Especially if he has as many soldiers in his group as Justin did! Just have fun!
