He has had an ok week. He doesn't like AIT as much as BCT and is already ready to get it over with. He does get to call me just about every evening, so he does have more priviledges. But they are also more strict and not fun. The SGT's are very Article 15 happy, and you can get written up just for having your cell phone on you in class. The SGT's aren't trying to "get in their heads", they are just mean and don't care. He has already been smoked majorly for slipping off the sidewalk into the grass and also for asking to fax something to the housing office. Its crazy all the stuff he has told me he has to do everyday in his daily routine along the lines of locker appearance, bed appearance, a display drawer that has to be in perfect order showing every item he needs and uses (but they can't be used) Its crazy.......
He has already started classes and they are "work at your on pace" He has to attend class, mandatory from 8-4:30, appear for formation and chow and then if he wishes he can attend class again until 9:00. He said one of the SGT's is so strict and mean, that he gladly goes back to school just to avoid being in the same building with that guy.
His SGT is also pressuring all of them in the barracks to hurry up and get their families moved up here. Since barracks are separated by MOS, each person in his barrack is attending the same classes and therefore are all eligible for their families to move on post with them. Therefore, the SGT is pressuring them to hurry up and phase up and move out so that he doesn't have to "babysit" them all the time at the barracks.
Chris has passed his PT test, and he knows the soldier's creed. Now all he has to learn is the Ordnance Creed, Ordnance Song and the Army Song....So, he is getting closer to being with us.
We found out this week that they will have a four bedroom house available for us next week. So, now its just a waiting game. I have my renters lined up. We are just waiting on the Army to tell us what our next step is.
