We were so blessed to be able to visit family and friends this past weekend. Four days back home. It was bittersweet. Its great to see everyone, share stories of our new experiences and remember some old ones and have some good laughs...
The topics of the weekend became a quite thorough reflective conversation on the drive back home between both of us. It has definitely been an interesting seven years for our family. We have accomplished so much, struggled with so much, and have conquered so many obstacles. But we would not change a thing. It has molded us, formed us and made us who we are today.
We are both very excited about our future. We are excited about our children and their futures with the Army. Of course, Chris says we haven't experienced the Army life truly yet, since he is still in AIT. But I have seen so many changes in him. Good and Great changes. Confidence, pride and courage reflects from his face as he smiles. I sincerely think we are here for the long haul.
Me and the children are adapting well. There are some days we feel disconnected from home, but all we have to do is pick up the phone and we are better again. I am sure there will be new obstacles to conquer. But to know that we are no longer stuck. We climbed out of our rut. We are on a new road; A road of adventure, uncertainty and a chance to spread our wings and get a taste of the world. We are SO excited and eager!
We have approximately 8 weeks left here in Augusta. Have no clue where we will end up, but have faith in God, that we will flourish where ever He takes us!
