My Husband, My Soldier, My Hero! I am so proud of him!

I FINALLY GOT A PHONE CALL AFTER TWO LONG WEEKS OF NOT HEARING HIS VOICE!

He was doing great, had a good week on the range, and did outstanding aiming and target practicing with his M-16's, better than any in his company, beating all that have history shooting a gun, CHRIS HAS NO EXPERIENCE SHOOTING!

The best and most sad news to report: Chris stopped an attempted suicide friday. A newly enlisted soldier went AWOL the first week and finally decided to show up within the last week I presume. They would not let him out of his contract. They are/were making him stay and perform during this BCT plus repeat BCT next session w/ half pay and an article 15 on his record (I don't know what that is other than its not good) Anyway, they have been assigning two soldiers at a time to babysit this guy. Well, the dude goes missing. The Drill SGT sends Chris and his battle buddy to search for the guy.

They decide to search the barracks and as they were done searching a floor and heading out, Chris stopped and had a feeling to check this one vacant unused room. As they entered the room, he hung himself with his belt in a wall locker. Chris rushed, had to pick up this guys full body weight and unwrap the belt from his neck and lay him on the ground. At first he was just laying there, but needless to say, he survived! Chris and his battle buddy had to stay at the hospital all day yesterday to make sure he didn't attempt again.

I am so proud of him, I already was proud of him, but he showed his character and worked quickly to free that guy! He is a Hero!
